The Essentials

About God:

  • We believe there is only one true God, eternally existent in

  • three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 32:39, Matthew 28:19, 1 John 5:7)

About Jesus Christ:

  • We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. That He is God with Father and the Holy Spirit. (John 1:1-4, 1Timothy 3:16). We believe He was born of a virgin, (Matthew 1:18-24), lived a sinless life (2 Corinthians 5:21, 1John 3:5), was crucified and buried and rose from the dead on the third day (John 19:41-20:20), has ascended into heaven and will return to establish His eternal kingdom (Acts 1:9-11, Matthew 25:31 Revelation 20:4-6). We believe in the absolute Lordship of Jesus Christ and that faith in Him is the only way a person may be saved and enter heaven (Colossians 1:13-18, John 14:6, Romans 5:1) Reaching out purposefully into our local community

About the Holy Spirit:

  • We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and that they are in operation in the church today. (1 Corinthians 12:1-11. Romans 11:29) We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit that enables a believer to live a holy life. (2 Peter 1:2-4, 1 John 3:4-6, 9, Galatians 5:16)

About the Bible:

  • We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, authoritative, Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:15-16)

About the People:

  • We believe a person is saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:8-9). We believe the spirit-filled life is God’s plan for each person today. (Acts 2:1-4, 8:14-17, 19:1-6). We believe in eternal life for the saved and eternal damnation for the lost. ( 1 John 2:24-25, Revelation 20:15) People are made in the image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God. This attitude, called sin, separates people from God and causes multiple problems in life. (Genesis 1:27, Psalm 8:3-6, Romans 3:23)

About Eternity:

  • We believe that God does not desire that anyone would perish, but everyone to come to repentance and be saved. (2 Peter 3:9, 1 Timothy 2:4) We believe that heaven and hell are real places (2 Corinthians 12:1-4, Revelation4:1-2, Mark 9:42-48, Revelation 20:11-15)

The Essentials

The Scriptures Inspired:

  • The scriptures both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired and infallible revelation of God to man and the authority of faith and conduct. This assembly accepts the Bible as the revealed will of God, as the all-sufficient rule of faith and practice, and for the purpose of maintaining the general unity of our statements of faith.

The One True God:

  • The one true God has revealed Himself as the “I Am,” the Creator and Redeemer of mankind.

The Deity of Jesus:

  • The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, death, resurrection, and ascension to the right hand of the Father.

The Fall of Man

  • Man was created upright and good, however, man voluntarily transgressed and fell, and thereby, is spiritually dead and separated from God.

The Ordinances of the Church:

  • Water Baptism in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and by full immersion; and Holy Communion (The Lords Supper), consisting of the Body and Blood, represented in the bread and the fruit of the vine. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit: According to Acts 1:8 and Acts 2:4, with one of the signs being speaking with other tongues, along with various gifts.

Sanctification:

  • The act of separation from that which is evil and dedication unto God.

The Fall of Man:

  • Man was created upright and good, however, man voluntarily transgressed and fell, and thereby, is spiritually dead and separated from God.

The Salvation of Man

  • Man’s only hope is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Salvation is by faith through grace and demonstrated in repentance.

The Church and its Mission:

  • The church is the representative of Jesus on earth and is to carry out the Great Commission.

The Ministry:

  • A divinely called and scripturally ordained minister has been provided by God to lead the church in evangelism, worship, building the body, and general leadership of the church.

Divine Healing:

  • It is provided for today by the scriptures and included in the atonement for our sins.

The Blessed Hope and The Millennial Reign of Christ:

  • The resurrection of the just is the blessed hope of the Body of Christ.

The Second Coming of Christ:

  • Includes the rapture and a return to earth by Christ with His saints for a thousand-year reign.

The Final Judgement:

  • There will be a final judgment at which all men will appear for judgment.
